Lakeside Nativity in Cuero

The Lake Island Nativity

Our Story

A Small-Town Tradition That Lights Up South Texas

For over a quarter century, families have made the drive to Cuero Municipal Park for one of the most beloved holiday light displays in the state. What began in 2000 with a single lit gazebo has grown into a breathtaking drive-through experience featuring hundreds of handcrafted scenes, a stunning lakeside nativity, and thousands of twinkling LEDs.

Best of all, admission is always free.

The Driving Tour

A Drive-Through Holiday Wonderland

Tune your radio to our holiday frequency and cruise through Cuero Municipal Park at your own pace. The self-guided driving tour winds past Victorian streetscapes, whimsical gingerbread houses, western scenes, towering candy cane arches, and "Sassy" the Sea Serpent.

The average tour takes 30 to 45 minutes, and every turn reveals something new. Rain or shine, the lights are on every single night from the Monday before Thanksgiving through New Year's Day.
